History & Origin
Autumn Crown F1 is a modern moschata hybrid bred for its distinctive crown-shaped stem end and compact vine habit. It combines the rich flavor and long storage life of traditional moschata pumpkins with the manageable growth that home gardeners need. Its butternut-style flesh is dense, smooth, and deeply orange.
In the Kitchen
Roast halves at 400°F for 45 minutes until caramelized. The flesh makes exceptional soups, risotto, and ravioli filling. Its natural sweetness pairs beautifully with sage, brown butter, and nutmeg. Try it as a butternut substitute in any recipe for richer, more complex flavor.
