History & Origin

Musquee de Provence is a French heirloom that has graced the markets of southern France for centuries. Its deeply ribbed form and rich brown skin, often called "fairy-tale" beauty, make it as stunning on a doorstep as it is on a dinner plate. In France, it is the variety of choice for traditional soupe au potiron and gratin de courge. It stores beautifully for months, developing deeper sweetness over time.

In the Kitchen

Roast wedges at 400°F until caramelized, then puree for the silkiest soup you have ever tasted. The dense, orange flesh makes exceptional gratins, tarts, and even gnocchi. In Provence, it is traditionally paired with cream, Gruyere, and fresh thyme.
