We Made the Paper: The Newton Kansan Visits Our Micro-Farm

This week something happened that we are still grinning about. The Newton Kansan came out to the micro-farm, walked the beds with us, and put our story in the paper.

The piece is called "Pumpkin passion grows into Newton micro-farm venture," written by Chad Frey. It tells the story the way we would tell it ourselves: a love of squash, pumpkins, and problem solving that grew from a backyard experiment into Autumn Prairie Pumpkins, vine borer resistant heirlooms and all.

Thank you, Chad, and thank you to the Kansan for caring about the small stories growing in Newton backyards. For a two-person farm that packs every seed order at the kitchen table, seeing our beds in the local paper means more than any number on a dashboard ever could.

Come see the farm behind the story

We made our farmers market debut this month, and we will be back at the booth this Saturday with seed packets, Prairie Sunrise and Prairie Blaze coffee, and free growing advice for anyone fighting vine borers this summer. Come say hello, ask us anything, and meet the people from the photo.

If you are new here because of the article, welcome. The best places to start are our story, our Kansas garden seeds guide, and the growing guides we write for every variety we sell. We are glad you found us.
