Every good garden day starts the same way: a hot cup, a quiet minute, and the light coming up slow over flat Kansas fields. That is where Prairie Coffee began. Our Kansas blends are roasted in small batches by our Kansas roasting partner, then packed and shipped with the same care we put into our heirloom pumpkin seeds, because we believe the thing you drink first thing in the morning should be made with the same care as the food you grow.

We are not a warehouse and we are not a national chain. Our Kansas blends are roasted in small weekly batches by our roasting partner, then shipped within days of the roast. Coffee is at its best in the first few weeks after roasting, so the shorter the trip to your kitchen, the better the cup. Order by Wednesday and your bag typically ships by Friday of the same week, still close enough to the roast date to taste the difference.

Two kinds of mornings

Prairie Sunrise is our light roast, roasted in small batches in Kansas: smooth, balanced, and bright, with a soft honey-almond finish. It is the cup for slow mornings and easy drinking, approachable enough for the whole table.

For something bolder, the 12 oz Harvest line runs from a smooth medium through a dark roast: full-bodied, a little smoky, and built for cold mornings and long work days. If you like your coffee with some backbone, this is your bag.

The Harvest Line: Our Craft-Roasted Sourced Lineup

Everything above is roasted in small batches right here in Kansas, and that is not changing. The Harvest line is a different thing, and we want zero fog about it: these four blends are craft roasted for us in small batches in Missouri by a roaster we trust, then labeled, packed, and shipped from our Newton homestead like everything else we sell. We chose them to cover the mornings our Kansas-roasted lineup does not reach yet: a true espresso roast, a sugarcane-process decaf, and a bigger 12 oz bag. All 100% Arabica, all unflavored. No pumpkin flavor inside. Just honest coffee.

  • Harvest Moon, smooth medium roast, 12 oz, whole bean or ground. The everyday cup: mild, medium bodied, smooth finish.
  • Flint Hills, bold dark roast, whole bean, 12 oz. Deep and full bodied. Sold out at the moment, it went fast at the farmers market, and a reorder is on the way.

We source good green beans and work with a Kansas roaster we trust for our Kansas-roasted blends, which keeps the whole process close to home and honest. The same belief runs through everything we do here: good things take time, good soil, and good neighbors. Coffee is just the part of the morning you can enjoy before the sun is fully up.
