What are heirloom pumpkin seeds?

Heirloom pumpkin seeds are open-pollinated varieties that have been passed down through generations. Unlike hybrids, you can save seeds from heirloom pumpkins and grow the same variety year after year. Most of our seeds are open-pollinated heirlooms, and we also carry a few F1 hybrids. All of our seeds are non-GMO.

What growing zone are your seeds tested in?

Our seeds are grown and germination-tested on our Zone 6b homestead in Newton, Kansas, and we source additional seed from trusted growers when we need to. Most of our varieties also perform well in Zones 5-9. Each product listing includes specific growing zone recommendations.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes! We offer free shipping on orders of $35 or more. Orders under $35 pay USPS calculated shipping. Seeds ship via USPS First Class, and coffee ships fresh within 48 hours of roasting.

What makes your coffee different?

Our coffee is roasted in small weekly batches, Prairie Blaze right here in Kansas, and every 8 oz bag is packed and shipped fresh from Newton. Available in Prairie Sunrise (light roast) and Prairie Blaze (bold medium roast), ground or whole bean.

Are your pumpkin seeds vine borer resistant?

Many of our Cucurbita moschata varieties are naturally resistant to squash vine borers, including Seminole Pumpkin, Long Island Cheese, Tromboncino, and Mrs. Amersons. We highlight vine borer resistance on each product page.

Shipping and Returns

Shipping

We ship all orders from Newton, Kansas. Our goal is to get your seeds and coffee to you as quickly and carefully as possible.

Seed orders: Orders placed before 2 p.m. CT Monday through Friday typically ship the same business day. Weekend orders ship the following Monday. All seed packets are shipped via USPS Mail and usually arrive within 3 to 5 business days.

Coffee orders: Coffee is roasted in small batches throughout the week and ships within 1 to 3 business days of your order. We use USPS Priority Mail to make sure your coffee arrives fresh.

Free shipping: Orders of $35 or more ship free within the continental United States, no promo code required. For orders under $35, standard shipping rates apply at checkout. We build shipping costs into our prices so you always get fair, transparent pricing.

Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico & military addresses: Because USPS charges higher carrier rates to these destinations, orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or a military (APO/FPO/DPO) address are charged a flat $9.99 shipping fee and are not eligible for free shipping.

Order tracking: You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information as soon as your order leaves our facility.

Returns and Exchanges

Seeds: Because seeds are a perishable agricultural product, we are unable to accept returns on opened seed packets. If your seeds arrive damaged or you receive the wrong variety, please contact us within 7 days and we will make it right with a replacement or refund.

Coffee: If your coffee arrives damaged or you are not satisfied with your order, reach out to us within 14 days of delivery. We will work with you on a replacement or store credit.

Damaged shipments: If your order arrives damaged in transit, please take a photo and email us at info@autumnprairiepumpkins.com. We will send a replacement at no cost.
