History & Origin
Also known as Pennsylvania Dutch Crookneck, this moschata heirloom has been grown for generations across the American South and Caribbean. Its distinctive long neck is solid flesh with no seed cavity, all usable meat. Cuban Neck is naturally resistant to squash vine borers, making it one of the most dependable varieties for organic growers in Kansas and the Midwest.
In the Kitchen
The long neck slices into perfect rounds for roasting or grilling. Cube it for Caribbean-style soups and stews. The flesh is dense, sweet, and makes outstanding pumpkin butter. Its solid neck means less waste and easier prep than most pumpkins.
