Prairie Sunflower Collection: Mammoth and Autumn Beauty sunflowers together. Giant blooms for pollinators and stunning multi-color cuts. Open-pollinated seeds from Kansas.

Two Heirloom Sunflowers. One Unforgettable Garden.

The Prairie Sunflower Collection pairs two of the most beloved open-pollinated sunflower varieties into a single packet designed for Kansas gardeners who want height, color, and a long season of blooms. You get 30 seeds of each variety, ready to plant, save, and grow again year after year.

What's in the Bundle

  • Mammoth Sunflower (30 seeds), The classic giant. Stalks reach 8–12 feet, faces the size of dinner plates, and seeds heavy enough to feed your whole neighborhood (or just the birds you actually like). Mammoth is a Kansas garden staple, bold, productive, and hard to miss.
  • Autumn Beauty Sunflower (30 seeds), A branching, multi-headed variety that blooms in waves of gold, bronze, burgundy, and cream. While Mammoth gives you the statement piece, Autumn Beauty fills in with color from mid-summer through frost. These are the sunflowers that make people slow down when they pass your garden.

Why Grow Them Together

Mammoth provides structure and height, a vertical anchor at the back of a bed or along a fence line. Autumn Beauty spreads out at mid-height with continuous color. Plant them together and you have a full sunflower display from July through October, not just a one-week show.

Both varieties are open-pollinated and non-GMO. Save seed at the end of the season and you're set for next year, no need to buy again unless you want to.

Growing Notes for Kansas (Zone 6b)

  • Direct sow: After last frost (mid-April through May). Sunflowers don't like transplanting, sow where they'll grow.
  • Spacing: Mammoth: 18–24 inches apart. Autumn Beauty: 12–18 inches apart.
  • Sun: Full sun, minimum 6–8 hours. More sun = more blooms.
  • Water: Water deeply at establishment; established plants handle Kansas heat well.
  • Harvest: Mammoth seeds mature 80–90 days. Autumn Beauty blooms 70–80 days and keeps producing with deadheading.

All Seeds, All Open-Pollinated

Every seed in this bundle is grown and selected for performance in the Kansas climate. Open-pollinated means true-to-type, save seeds from your best plants and improve your garden with every season.
