Grow what you bake

Most of the pumpkin in this book started as a seed we sell. If you want to close the loop, start with the Dickinson pumpkin, the original pie pumpkin behind Libby's canned pumpkin, or the Long Island Cheese pumpkin, a pre-Civil War American heirloom. Both are vine borer resistant Cucurbita moschata varieties that hold up to a Kansas July.
